Choosing What Fits your Needs

Commercial toaster Brisbane is one of the essential pieces of kitchen equipment for restaurants. Getting one for your establishment is a big step for your restaurant to offer a selection of toasted and grilled menu items.

A commercial toaster is simply what it is. They are used to toast bread, bagels, muffins, buns, and many other bread products. You can choose from 3 types of commercial toaster Brisbane: Pop-up, Conveyor and Bun Grilling.

General considerations

In buying your toaster, you need to consider several main questions. What will it toast? Will your establishment serve toast, bagels, buns or a combination?

More questions include how much will your toaster toast? (You can get models that can toast from 60 to 1,500 slices per hour.) How much space will it take up in your restaurant? Do you have enough counter space? Would you have clearance for taller units?

Pop-up

For pop-ups, how much will it toast? (They are great for muffins, some bagel halves and thicker items like Texas toast, although not all.)

It can use the smallest amount of counter space (under 13” wide X 14” deep). Most of them are 120 volts and the heavier models need a 208/240 volt connection.

This is ideal for small diners, coffee shops and perfect for lower-volume meals because they conserve more energy than conveyor toasters.

Conveyor toaster

This one toasts breads, bagels, muffins, and specialty breads. These toasters have specific product opening to make sure what you are toasting will fit through that space.

These types are designed for higher outputs and a wider range of breads than can a commercial pop-up toaster. Bread slices are loaded into a feed area in the front of the unit, and is drawn back into the heating chamber using a conveyor built.

After toasting, the product falls down a slanted chute into a collection area. This one is great when you are operating a breakfast buffet, catering business, or a busy restaurant.

Bun grilling toaster

This one can toast bun halves, sub rolls, and like items, while it can also take bagels and sliced bread. It can toast dry or use a butter coating and griddle plate to caramelize the product, rather than true “toasting”.

The grilling toaster can toast all the same things as a conveyor toaster and more. It can also match the conveyor toasters in the number of slice outputs. The difference would be in what you want to toast and how you wanted them toasted.

If you are a high-volume sandwich shop or a cafeteria, this is the machine for you. It can serve house burgers or sandwich a boost with buttered toasted bun. On the other hand, if you only wanted to toast a lot of bagels for the breakfast line, a conveyor toaster might be a better choice.

A cleaning tip

Keeping your commercial toaster Brisbane clean is important for its performance and safety while in use. Always switch off the unit (to keep it cool) when cleaning.

Wiping the outside of the toaster with a damp cloth and using a short brush is good for your daily clean up routine.
